Who Had the Most Knowledge Regarding the Rites of Hajj
Hadith 16403
١٦٤٠٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا معاذ عن ابن عون عن محمد قال: كانوا يرون أن أعلم الناس بالمناسك ابن عفان ثم بعده ابن عمر.
It is narrated from Muhammad that the greatest knowledge of the rites of Hajj was with Hazrat Ibn Affan, and after him, it was with Hazrat Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both.
Hadith 16404
١٦٤٠٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا الفضل عن سفيان عن أبي إسحاق عن عبد اللَّه بن سيف عن عائشة أنها قالت: ابن عباس أعلم من بقي بالحج (١).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that among the people of today, Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) is the most knowledgeable about the rites of Hajj.
Hadith 16405
١٦٤٠٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: ثنا ابن فضيل (١) أسلم النقري قال: كنت جالسًا مع أبي جعفر فمر عطاء، فقال أبو جعفر: (ما بقي) (٢) على ظهر الأرض أحد أعلم بمناسك الحج من عطاء.
Hazrat Aslam al-Manqari narrates that I was sitting with Hazrat Abu Ja'far when Hazrat Ata passed by. Hazrat Abu Ja'far said: There is no one left on the face of the earth who has more knowledge of the rites of Hajj than this person.
