Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zam'ah narrates that I asked Hazrat Ibn Tawoos whether his father used to raise his voice while reciting the Talbiyah. He replied that he used to say it in a moderate voice.

Hazrat Mak'hool says that reciting the Talbiyah is a symbol (sign) of Hajj, so recite the Talbiyah abundantly while ascending every height, and recite it abundantly at all times and express it well (say it in a loud voice).

Hazrat Hasan bin Farat narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaykah asked us, "Are you people in the state of Ihram?" We replied, "Yes." He said, "Then recite the Talbiyah."

Hasan says that whoever recites the Talbiyah should recite it in such a voice that the person next to him can hear it.

It was asked from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), "What is Hajj Mabroor?" He replied, "Reciting the Talbiyah aloud and offering sacrifice."

Hazrat Bakr narrates that I was with Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), and he recited the Talbiyah in such a loud voice that everyone between the two mountains heard it.

Hazrat Yaqub bin Zaid narrates that the companions would not even reach the place of Rauha when their throats would become sore due to reciting the Talbiyah in a loud voice.

Hazrat Umar used to recite the Talbiyah at Safa and Marwah, and he would recite the Talbiyah in a loud voice. His voice was so loud that at night his voice would be recognized even though his face could not be seen.

It is narrated from Hazrat Saib that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Hazrat Jibreel came to me and instructed me to command my companions to recite the Talbiyah in a loud voice.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Raise your voice when reciting the Talbiyah, and the same is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Zubair as well.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Hazrat Jibreel came to me and said: Instruct your companions to recite the Talbiyah in a loud voice, for this is the symbol (sign) of Hajj.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: The best and most virtuous Hajj is the one in which the Talbiyah is recited aloud and a camel is sacrificed.

Hazrat Abdul Muttalib bin Abdullah narrates that the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) used to recite the Talbiyah in a loud voice, to the extent that their throats would become sore, and when they assumed Ihram, after putting on the Ihram, they would be exposed to the sun.
