Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

A woman came to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and said, "My mother has passed away and Hajj was obligatory upon her. Should I perform it on her behalf?" Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "Did she have any debt?" The woman replied, "Yes." He asked, "Then what did you do about it?" She said, "I have paid it off." Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Allah is the best creditor, (so fulfill His debt as well)."

Hazrat Abu Razin Al-Uqayli presented himself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! My father is very old and he does not have the strength to perform Hajj and Umrah, nor can he walk." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Perform Hajj and Umrah on behalf of your father."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "My father is very old and does not have the strength to perform Hajj. Can I perform Hajj on his behalf?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes, perform Hajj on behalf of your father."

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said regarding an old person that someone will be prepared from his sustenance, then he will perform Hajj on his behalf.
