Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid was asked: What if a person gets his head shaved before offering the sacrifice? He replied that he must offer a penalty (fidyah). The narrator says: I asked Hazrat Tawus and Hazrat Mujahid about this. They said: There is nothing (no penalty) upon him.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states that whoever performs any pillar of Hajj before its due time or after it, then a sacrifice (dam) becomes obligatory upon him.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair says that whoever performs any rite of Hajj out of order, or shaves his head before offering the sacrifice, then a penalty (dam) becomes obligatory upon him.

Ibrahim says that if one shaves the head before offering the sacrifice, then a compensatory sacrifice (dam) becomes obligatory upon him. Then he recited this verse from Surah Al-Baqarah: { وَ لَا تَحْلِقُوْا رُئُ وْسَکُمْ حَتّٰی یَبْلُغَ الْھَدْیُ مَحِلَّہٗ } .

Ibrahim says that it was said: Whoever introduces a new act during Hajj that is not appropriate for Hajj, then he must offer a sacrifice for it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person, during Hajj, performs one ritual in place of another, there is no harm.

It is narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Jabir.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I have had my head shaved before offering the sacrifice." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Offer the sacrifice, there is no harm." (Another person said,) "I have offered the sacrifice before throwing the pebbles." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Throw the pebbles, there is nothing wrong."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that he had performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah before shaving his head. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Now) get your head shaved or cut, there is no harm.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I performed the Rami after sunset?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no harm." He said: "I had my head shaved before offering the sacrifice?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no harm."

It is narrated from Hazrat Usama bin Sharik that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the person who had his head shaved before offering the sacrifice. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no harm.

It is also narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about performing the rites of Hajj out of order. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no harm.
