Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Usman says that I have houses in Makkah Mukarramah in which my children live, and they allow whomever they wish to reside in those houses.

Hazrat Mujahid, Hazrat Ata, and Hazrat Tawus considered it undesirable to sell a house in Makkah Mukarramah.

Hazrat Mujahid says that selling houses in Makkah Mukarramah is not permissible.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid in a marfu’ form that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible to sell the houses of Makkah Mukarramah.

Hazrat Alqamah bin Nazlah says that during the time of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and during the era of Hazrat Siddiq Akbar and Hazrat Umar, I had a house in Makkah Mukarramah. Its name was Sawaib, and the rule was that whoever was needy would live in it himself, and whoever was wealthy would give its place to others to live in.
