Cupping while in ihram, and those who permitted it
Hadith 15214
١٥٢١٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن عمرو عن عطاء وطاوس عن ابن عباس أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ احتجم وهو محرم (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in the state of Ihram.
Hadith 15215
١٥٢١٥ - [(حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا كثير بن هشام عن هشام الدستوائي عن أبي الزبير عن جابر: أن النبي ﷺ احتجم وهو محرم) (١) [من (وثء) (٢) كان به (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in the state of Ihram due to weakness.
Hadith 15216
١٥٢١٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن إدريس عن يزيد عن مقسم عن ابن عباس: أن النبي ﷺ احتجم وهو محرم] (١)] (٢) (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in the state of Ihram.
Hadith 15217
١٥٢١٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن العلاء بن المسيب قال: (قيل) (١) لعطاء: (٢) يحتجم المحرم؟ فقال: نعم، قد فعل ذلك رسول اللَّه ﷺ ⦗٣٧٤⦘ ولكن لا يحلق شعرًا (٣).
Hazrat Ata was asked whether a person in Ihram can get cupping done? He replied, Yes, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also got it done, but did not cut his hair.
Hadith 15218
١٥٢١٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن حماد بن قلد عن عبيد اللَّه بن أبي يزيد عن عبيد بن عمير قال: يحتجم المحرم و (لا يحلق شعره) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair says that a Muhrim can get cupping done but should not cut hair.
Hadith 15219
١٥٢١٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا إسحاق بن سليمان الرازي عن حنظلة قال: سئل طاوس أيحتجم المحرم؟ قال: نعم، إذا كان (وجعًا) (١).
Hazrat Tawus was asked whether a person in Ihram can get cupping done? He replied: Yes, if he feels discomfort.
Hadith 15220
١٥٢٢٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن أبي الضحى عن مسروق قال: لمجتجم المحرم ولا يحتجم (الصائم) (١).
Hazrat Masrooq says that a person in the state of Ihram can get cupping done, but a fasting person should not get cupping done.
Hadith 15221
١٥٢٢١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا خالد بن مخلد عن سليمان بن بلال عن حميد عن أنس أن النبي ﷺ احتجم وهو محرم (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in the state of Ihram.
Hadith 15222
١٥٢٢٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (معلى) (١) بن منصور عن سليمان بن بلال عن علقمة بن أبي علقمة عن الأعرج عن ابن بحينة أن النبي ﷺ احتجم وهو محرم (٢).
The same is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Buhaina.
Hadith 15223
١٥٢٢٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن يحيى بن سعيد عن سليمان بن يسار أن النبي ﷺ (١) احتجم وهو محرم على (ذؤابتيه) (٢) بمكان يدعى لحى (جمل) (٣) (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Sulaiman bin Yasar that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done on the upper part of his head while in the state of Ihram, at the place of Lahy al-Jamal.
