Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ayyub that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Maghrib and Isha prayers at Muzdalifah.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed the Maghrib and Isha prayers at Muzdalifah, then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) doing likewise.

Hazrat Nu’man bin Humaid narrates that I saw Hazrat Umar bin Khattab performing the Maghrib and Isha prayers at Muzdalifah.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Yazid narrates that I performed the Maghrib prayer with Hazrat Abdullah at Muzdalifah with both adhan and iqamah, then dinner was brought which we ate, then he led us in the Isha prayer separately with both adhan and iqamah. Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that I met Hazrat Abu Ja'far and informed him about this, so he said that the Ahl al-Bayt also do the same.

Hasan and Muhammad say that combining the two prayers is the Sunnah method.

When Hazrat Urwah would depart from Arafat, he would perform the prayer on the way at some hill, and he would combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers.

Hazrat Dhahhak says that Maghrib and Isha will be performed together at Muzdalifah.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to offer both prayers together at Muzdalifah.
