Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Yazid bin Shaiban narrates that we were staying a little away from the place of staying at Arafah. Hazrat Ibn Muraqqab came to us and said, "I have come to you as the messenger of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) says: 'Adhere to your rites of Hajj, for indeed you are among the heirs of Ibrahim.'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn al-Munkadir and Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: All of Arafah is a place for staying, except for the valley of Urnah; stay away from it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The whole of Arafah is a place of standing (for staying).

Hazrat Jabir says that the whole of Arafah is a place of standing, so whoever wishes may stand near the Imam and whoever wishes may stand far from the Imam.

Hazrat Ibn Zubair states that the whole of Arafah is a place of standing except for the valley of Urnah.

A person narrated a hadith to me who saw Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) at the place of Arafat near the pond. (As if the pond is also part of the standing place).

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that all of Arafah is a place of standing except for the valley of Uranah.

Ibrahim says that the Companions liked that one should stay near the Imam at Arafah. Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: O people! Do not put yourselves in destruction, surely every place here is a place of standing.
