Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: "O Allah! Forgive those who have their heads shaved." The companions said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And those who have their hair cut short?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Allah, forgive those who have their heads shaved," and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times. The companions again said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And those who have their hair cut short?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "And forgive those who have their hair cut short as well."

Hazrat Wahb bin Abdullah narrates from his father that I was with my father, and I saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raising his hands and supplicating: "O Allah, have mercy on those who shave their heads." A person submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And those who shorten their hair?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said for the third time: "And those who shorten their hair as well."

It is narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Abu Saeed Al-Khudri.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated thus: O Allah! Forgive those who have their heads shaved. He said this three times. The companions asked, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What is the reason that mercy has been expressed for those who have their heads shaved? He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Because they do not express pain or grief and are quick in complying with the command.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads. The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And those who shorten their hair?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said for the third time: And may He have mercy on those who shorten their hair as well.

Hazrat Yahya bin Husain narrates from his grandfather that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicate three times for those who shaved their heads and once for those who shortened their hair.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hubshi bin Junadah that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads. The companions said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And for those who shorten their hair? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads. The companions said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And for those who shorten their hair? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: And forgive those who shorten their hair as well.

It is narrated from Hazrat Malik bin Rabi’ah that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a supplication: O Allah! Forgive those who shave their heads. The companions said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! And for those who shorten their hair? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: And forgive those who shorten their hair as well. The narrator says that on that day I had shaved my head, and because of this supplication of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I felt more happiness than if I had received red camels or a great number of camels.
