Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed me to stay with the camels and not to give anything from them to the butcher, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We will give the butcher from our own share.

Hazrat Maqsim says that do not give the animal's hide to the butcher; if you can sell it and buy a goat with its price, then buy the goat and slaughter it.

Hazrat Ata says that there is no harm in giving the animal's skin to the butcher.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair states that there is no harm in giving the animal's skin to the butcher.

Hazrat Mujahid says that nothing from the animal will be given to the butcher.
