Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Sabit that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his noble companions used to tie the left hand of the camel and, making it stand on three legs, would perform the sacrifice.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) performed the camel's nahr (sacrifice) in such a way that its right foreleg was tied.

Hazrat Ata says that you may tie the camel with whichever hand you wish.

Hazrat Mujahid would tie the camel's left hand at the time of slaughtering.

Hasan was asked how to perform the nahr (sacrifice) of a camel. He replied: Tie its left leg and perform the nahr from its right side.

When Hazrat Mujahid intended to slaughter a camel, he would tie its left hand.
