في هدي التطوع يؤكل منه أم لا؟
Can one eat from a voluntary sacrifice or not?
Hadith 13663
١٣٦٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: ثنا وكيع عن ابن أبي ليلى عن عطاء، وعن ⦗٥٤٥⦘ عبد الكريم عن معاذ بن (سعوة) (١) عن سنان بن سلمة أن النبي ﷺ قال: "الهَدْيُ التَّطَوُّعُ لَا (يَأكَل) (٢) مِنْهُ فإن أَكَلَ غَرِمَ" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Sinan bin Salamah that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One should not eat from a voluntary sacrifice; if he eats, he will have to pay a penalty.
Hadith 13664
١٣٦٦٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن إدريس عن ابن جريج عن محمد بن ذكوان عن الشعبي عن علي وعبد اللَّه قالا: إن أكل منه غرم (١).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abdullah say that if one eats from a voluntary sacrifice, a penalty will be obligatory.
Hadith 13665
١٣٦٦٥ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حفص عن ليث عن مجاهد عن عمر قال: من أهدى هديًا تطوعًا فعطب نحره (دون) (١) الحرم ولم يأكل منه شيئًا، فإن أكل فعليه البدل] (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Umar said that whoever sends a voluntary sacrifice should have it slaughtered in the Haram and should not eat anything from it himself; if he eats from it himself, then he must offer a substitute for it.
Hadith 13666
١٣٦٦٦ - (حدثنا أبو بكر قال) (١): حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش (عن ⦗٥٤٦⦘ إبراهيم) (٢) عن علقمة قال: بعث معي عبد اللَّه بهديه، (قال) (٣): وأمرني (إذا) (٤) نحرته أن أتصدق (بثلث) (٥) وآكل (ثلثًا) (٦) وأبعث إلى أهل أخيه (عتبة) (٧) بثلث (٨).
Hazrat Alqamah narrates that Hazrat Abdullah sent a sacrificial animal with me and instructed me that when I slaughter it, I should give one third in charity, feed one third to people (and eat myself), and send one third to the house of his brother Utbah.
Hadith 13667
١٣٦٦٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن معمر عن الزهري عن سعيد بن المسيب في البدنة: ليس عليه شيء في التطوع إلا أن يأمر فيها بأمر أو يأكل أو يطعم، فإن فعل أبدل.
Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib says regarding the sacrificial camel that nothing is obligatory in the voluntary sacrifice except if someone is ordered regarding it, or he himself eats from it or feeds others from it; if he does so, then its substitute becomes obligatory upon him.
Hadith 13668
١٣٦٦٨ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن عمرو عن جابر بن زيد قال: إذا أكلت من هدي التطوع (غرمت) (١)] (٢).
Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid says that if you yourself eat from the voluntary sacrifice, then penalty and compensation become obligatory.
Hadith 13669
١٣٦٦٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا جرير عن ليث قال: كان معى هدى صدقة للمساكين، فأمرني أن آكل منه وأدخر.
Hazrat Laith says that I had a sacrificial animal which was for charity to the needy, so I was commanded to eat from it myself and also to store it.
Hadith 13670
١٣٦٧٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا جرير عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال: كانوا لا يأكلون من شيء جعلوه للَّه، ثم رخص لهم أن يأكلوا من الهدي والأضاحي وأشباهه.
Ibrahim states that the companions of the Prophet would not consume anything they sacrificed for Allah, but then they were permitted to eat from the animals of Hadi and sacrifice and similar things themselves.
