Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Bishr says that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid, "I have found a louse on my face while in the state of Ihram?" He replied, "Throw it away; there is no share in it for you."

A woman came to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) and asked, "If I find a louse on myself, should I throw it away or kill it?" He replied, "A louse is not among the game (hunted animals)."

A man asked Hazrat Ata: "If lice crawl on me, should I throw them off?" He replied: "Yes." The man then asked: "May I search for lice and kill them?" He replied: "It is disliked to search for lice in the clothes and kill them while in the state of Ihram." The narrator says: "I asked: 'If a tick or lice crawl on me, what should I do?'" He replied: "Throw it off and remove it; there is no penalty upon you."

Hazrat Ikrimah bin Khalid Al-Makhzumi was asked that if a person in the state of Ihram sees lice on his clothes, what should he do? He replied: He should gently catch it and throw it away, but he should not search for lice himself.

Hazrat Ata says that if a Muhrim wishes, he may remove a louse from himself and throw it away.

Hazrat Mu'tamir's father narrates that a leech clung to me while I was in the state of Ihram. I asked Hazrat Talq bin Habib about it. He said, "Throw it away; may Allah keep the leech away from you."
