Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Abdullah Ansari that a man made a vow to sacrifice a camel. He came to Hazrat Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "A badnah is from among the camels and it should be slaughtered in Makkah. However, if he intended another place, then it should be slaughtered where he intended, and if he does not find it, then he should offer seven goats." Then I asked Hazrat Salim, and he said the same. Then I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib, and he also said the same except that if he does not find it, then ten goats. Then I informed Hazrat Kharijah bin Zaid of what these gentlemen had said, and he said: "I have not found any of my companions who counted it as anything except in comparison to seven goats."

13058 - He said: And I asked Salim, (and he said): the same as that.

13059 - He said: I asked Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib and he said the same, except that he said: If he does not find, then ten sheep.

13060 - He said: I asked Kharija ibn Zayd and informed him of what the people had said, and he replied: I did not find our companions counting it except as seven from the sheep. [كمل جميع الكفارات والحمد للَّه حق حمده] (2)
