Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sha’bi narrates that once I passed by the people of Syria, and they bought a slave-girl and set her free. That slave-girl threw a bundle of wood on a child, due to which the child died. She was brought to Hazrat Masrooq, who said: “Find the heirs of the child.” They did not find anyone. He pondered for a while and then said: “Allah the Exalted has said, { فَمَنْ لَّمْ یَجِدْ فَصِیَامُ شَھْرَیْنِ مُتَتَابِعِیْنِ } Take her away and make her fast for sixty days, and there is nothing (no penalty, etc.) upon her for them.”

Hazrat Abu Ishaq narrates that a slave girl threw a bundle of wood on a child and killed him. She was brought to Hazrat Masruq. He asked, "Does she have any masters?" The people replied, "We do not know." He asked, "Does she have any wealth?" They said, "We do not know whether she has any wealth or not." He said, "Order her to fast continuously for sixty days."
