Hadith 12684
١٢٦٨٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم ⦗٣٠١⦘ قال: إذا قيل للرجل حلفتَ لا تفعل كذا وكذا؟ فيقول: نعم ولم يحلف، قال: عليه كفارة يمين.
Ibrahim says that when someone is told, "You have sworn that you will not do such and such?" and he replies, "Alright," but does not actually swear, it is said that expiation for an oath is due upon him.
Hadith 12685
١٢٦٨٥ - حدثنا (أبو) (١) أسامة عن (هشام) (٢) عن (الحسن) (٣) قال: إذا قال: عليَّ يمين ثم حنث فعليه الكفارة.
Hasan says that when a person says, "I swear," and then breaks it, then expiation is due upon him.
Hadith 12686
١٢٦٨٦ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن حماد قال: إذا قال: قد حلفت، ولم يكن حلف، فليس عليه كفارة.
Hazrat Hammad says that when a person says, "I have taken an oath," even though he has not actually taken an oath, then there is no expiation (kaffarah) upon him.
Hadith 12687
١٢٦٨٧ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: إذا قال الرجل (حلفت) (١) ولم يحلف فقد كذب وحلف، وإذا قال: (قد) (٢) حلفت (وكذبت) (٣) فقد كذب.
Ibrahim says that when a person says, "I have taken an oath," while in fact he has not sworn an oath, then indeed he has lied and has become a swearer, and if he says, "Indeed, I have taken an oath and I lied," then indeed he has lied.
