في الرجل يقول: لعمري، عليه شيء
If someone swears by saying 'La'mri', is anything required?
Hadith 12678
١٢٦٧٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا ابن علية عن عيينة بن عبد الرحمن عن أبيه قال: كانت يمين عثمان بن أبي العاص لعمري (١).
Hazrat 'Uyainah bin Abdur Rahman narrates from his father that Hazrat Usman bin Abi al-'As would swear by saying "La-'Umri" (By my life).
Hadith 12679
١٢٦٧٩ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن عون قال: (نبئت أن) (١) أبا السوار العدوي قال: إذا سمعتموني (أقول) (٢) (لاها اللَّه) (٣) إذًا، (أو) (٤) لعمري فذكروني.
Ibn Aun narrates that Abu al-Sawar al-Adawi informed us that when you hear me saying, "No, by Allah," or "By my life," then remind me.
Hadith 12680
١٢٦٨٠ - حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن هشام عن الحسن قال: إذا قال الرجل: لعمري (لا) (١) أفعل كذا وكذا إن حنث فعليه الكفارة.
Hasan says that if a person swears by his own life that "By my life, I will not do such and such," and then he breaks his oath, then expiation is due upon him.
Hadith 12681
١٢٦٨١ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: لعمري (لغو) (١).
Ibrahim says that swearing by saying "La‘amri" is idle (vain).
Hadith 12682
١٢٦٨٢ - حدثنا وكيع عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم أنه كره أن يقول: لعمري.
Hazrat A'mash says that Ibrahim disliked swearing oaths by saying "La'umri."
Hadith 12683
١٢٦٨٣ - [حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن العلاء عن أبيه قال: قال كعب: إنكم تشركون، قالوا: وكيف يا أبا إسحاق؛ قال: يقول أحدكم: (لا لعمري) (١) لا وحياتك] (٢).
Hazrat Ka'b says that surely you people commit shirk. People asked, O Abu Ishaq! How is that? He replied, when any of you swears an oath by saying, "By my life," or "By your life."
