Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Sirin narrates that Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit sought permission from Hazrat Usman to exhume the graves that were in Masjid Nabawi (peace and blessings be upon him), and he granted him permission. So he dug up those graves and removed them from the mosque (and buried them elsewhere), and those graves had been left in the mosque because there was very little soft land available for people.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Prophet’s Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him) belonged to Banu Najjar. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: Take its price from me. They replied: We seek its price from Allah Almighty. And in the mosque there were graves of polytheists, date-palm trees, and cultivated land. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the crops to be cut, the trees to be cut down, and the graves to be dug up.

Hazrat Qais narrates that during the Battle of Jamal, Marwan struck Hazrat Talha on the knee with a spear, due to which he was martyred and buried in Basra. Someone from his family saw him in a dream, and he said: "Will you not bring me comfort with that water? Surely, I am drowning." He said this three times. Then they dug up his grave and bought a house from among the houses of the family of Hazrat Abu Bakrah for ten thousand, and buried him in it.
