Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) when performing the funeral prayer, used to raise his hands while saying the takbeer, and when he finished the prayer, he would turn his head to the right and say only one salam.

Hazrat Umair bin Saeed narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah honor his face) performed the funeral prayer of Hazrat Yazid bin Al-Mukaffaf and recited four Takbirs in it, and gave only one Salam quietly to the right side.

Hazrat Mujahid states that Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say one salam in the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Abu Ishaq says: I offered the funeral prayer behind Hazrat Harith. When the prayer was finished, he turned to the right side and said one salam, "Assalamu Alaikum."

Hazrat A'mash says that Ibrahim used to say one salam in the funeral prayer.

Ibrahim says that there is only one salam in sajdah sahw and the funeral prayer.

Ibrahim says: In the funeral prayer, say only one salam.

Hazrat Hilal bin Mazeed narrates that I performed the funeral prayer behind Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid; he first said salam to the right side, then gave the second salam to the left side.

Hazrat Mu'tamir bin Sulaiman narrates from his father that Hazrat Ibn Sirin led the funeral prayer and pronounced salam aloud once.

Hazrat Abu Al-Anbas narrates from his father that he performed the funeral prayer behind Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). He (Abu Hurairah) said four takbirs in it and made one salam to the right side.

Hazrat Mansur bin Hayyan narrates that Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair would say one salam at the funeral prayer.

Hasan says that one should turn the greeting (salaam) towards the face of the deceased, and the followers (muqtadis) should also repeat the greeting.

Hazrat Harith narrates that I saw Hazrat Amir performing the funeral prayer; he turned to the right and to the left to offer salam.

Hazrat A'mash says that when Yahya performed the funeral prayer, he would say salam once.

Hazrat Amr bin Muhajir narrates that I offered sixty funeral prayers for men and women with Hazrat Wasila during the time of plague. He would recite four Takbirs and say one Salam.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Alaa reports that I offered the funeral prayer behind Hazrat Mak’hool; he said salam once to the right side.

Hazrat Asim says that I asked Hazrat Ghaneem, "Should I say salam (salutation) in the funeral prayer?" He replied, "Yes! Are you not in prayer?"

Ibrahim used to say salam to the right and to the left (two times) in the funeral prayer.
