Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Muharib bin Dithar narrates that Hazrat Umm Salamah had made a will that her funeral prayer should be led by Hazrat Saeed bin Zaid.

Muhammad states that Yunus bin Jubair had made a will that his funeral prayer should be led by Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Ubaidah had instructed in his will that his funeral prayer should be led by Hazrat Aswad.

Hazrat Abu Ishaq states that Hazrat Abu Maisarah had made a will that the Muslim judge Hazrat Shurayh should lead his funeral prayer.

Hazrat Abu Ishaq states that Hazrat Harith had made a will that his funeral prayer should be led by Hazrat Abdullah bin Yazid.

Muhammad says: I do not know if anyone has more right to lead the funeral prayer for someone, except for the person whom the deceased has appointed (as more deserving). And if the deceased has not appointed anyone, then the most virtuous among the family members should lead the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Muharib narrates that Hazrat Umm Salamah had made a will that her funeral prayer should not be led by anyone except the Imam of the time.
