Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj says that I asked Hazrat Ata: Should cotton be placed on it? He replied: Yes. I asked, is it so that nothing (impurity) comes out of it? He replied: Yes.

Ibrahim says that for every place on the deceased from where there is a fear of something (impurity) coming out, (cotton) will be applied there.

Hasan says that it will be placed on the place of the deceased's excrement, ears, and nose.

Hazrat Rabi' says that I heard from Hazrat Ibn Sirin that cotton should be stuck to the anus, mouth, and nose of the deceased. Muhammad says that whatever treatment needs to be done at the place of excretion (if something needs to be placed), do it with your left hand.

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid says that if there is a fear of something coming out from the orifices of the deceased, the orifices of the body and the ears should be closed with cotton.
