Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim says that when the Companions would be present near a deceased person, they would send menstruating women outside.

It is narrated from Ibrahim that a woman came to Hazrat Alqamah and said, "I treat patients, so can I stand near them while I am menstruating?" He replied, "Yes, when he is brought to you, avoid his head."

Hasan did not consider there to be any harm in a menstruating woman being present near the deceased.
