Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib narrates that a man came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I have missed one fast of Ramadan. What is the ruling for me now?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Give charity, seek forgiveness from Allah, and keep a fast in place of that day."

Hazrat Asim says that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid what is the ruling for a person who misses a fast in Ramadan? He replied that he should keep one fast in its place and also do some other good deed along with it.

Ibrahim and Hazrat Sha'bi say that he should make up one day in compensation for it.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that he should make up one day in compensation for it.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair, regarding the person who deliberately missed a fast in Ramadan, says that he should seek forgiveness from Allah, repent, and make up one day’s fast in its place.

It is narrated similarly through another chain.

Hazrat Asim narrates that Hazrat Abu Qalabah sent a man to Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib and asked him: If a person deliberately misses a fast in Ramadan, what should he do? Hazrat Saeed replied that he should make up for each missed day by fasting for a month.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib says that if a person deliberately misses a fast in Ramadan, he will fast for one month.

Ibrahim says that a fast of three thousand days is obligatory for this.
