Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to embrace his wife while fasting, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had more control over his desires than you.

Hazrat Salim Ausi says that a man asked Hazrat Saad, "O Abu Ishaq! Do you embrace your wife while fasting?" He replied, "Yes, and I also touch her private part."

Hazrat Ibn Masood used to embrace his wife at midday while fasting.

Hazrat Ikrimah narrates that a Bedouin came to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and asked him about having relations with one's wife while fasting. He (Ibn Abbas) permitted kissing, embracing, and touching with the hand, provided that it does not go beyond this.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says that there is no harm for an old man to embrace his wife while fasting.

Hazrat Shaibani says that I asked Hazrat Ikrimah and Hazrat Sha'bi about embracing one's wife while fasting, and they permitted it. When I asked Hazrat Ibn Mughaffal, he considered it disliked.

Hazrat Wabra reports that a man came to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) and asked, "Can I embrace my wife while fasting?" He replied, "No." Another man came and asked the same question, and Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "Yes, you can." People asked him, "You permitted one man and forbade the other; what is the reason for this?" Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "One was young and the other was old."

Hazrat Ata reports that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) was asked about embracing and similar acts while fasting, so he replied: "Keep your fast pure."

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) considered kissing and embracing, etc., to be disliked while fasting.

Hazrat Jumana bint Musayyib, who was the wife of Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) after performing the Fajr prayer in Ramadan, would lie down with her in a blanket and turn his back towards her, so that he could get warmth from her, and he would not face her.
