Fasting During the First Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah
Hadith 9466
٩٤٦٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا جرير عن منصور عن إبراهيم أن النبي ﷺ لم يصم العشر قط (١).
Ibrahim says that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) never fasted the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Hadith 9467
٩٤٦٧ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن الأسود عن عائشة قالت: ما رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ صام العشر قط (١).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) observing fasts during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Hadith 9468
٩٤٦٨ - حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ عن ابن عون قال: كان محمد يصوم العشر عشر ذي الحجة كله فإذا مضى العشر ومضت أيام التشريق أفطر (تسعة) (١) أيام مثل ما صام.
Ibn Aun narrates that Muhammad used to fast all the days of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and when the days of Tashreeq had passed, he would fast an additional nine days.
Hadith 9469
٩٤٦٩ - حدثنا (حسين) (١) بن علي عن زائدة عن ليث قال: كان مجاهد يصوم العشر قال: وكان عطاء يتكلفها.
Hazrat Laith says that Hazrat Mujahid used to fast during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and Hazrat Ata also used to observe them regularly.
