Hazrat Abdullah says: Always keep looking at the Qur'an.

Hazrat Khaythamah says that I went to Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), and he was reciting from the Mushaf. He said, "This is my daily practice which I perform at night."

Yunus says that the practice of the predecessors was to look into the Mushaf. When Hazrat Ahnaf bin Qais was alone, he used to look into the Mushaf.

Hazrat Shumaisa Umm Salamah says that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to recite from the Mushaf, and when she would pass by a verse of prostration, she would perform prostration.

Hazrat Rabee’ used to recite from the Mushaf by looking at it, and when someone would come to him, he would cover it.

Hazrat A’mash says that I came to Ibrahim while he was reciting from the Mushaf by looking at it. A man asked for permission to enter, so he covered it and said that he should not see that I recite it all the time.

Hasan narrates that people came to Hazrat Usman and the Holy Quran was in his lap.

Hazrat Abu Salih Aqili says that Hazrat Abu Al-Ala Yazid bin Abdullah bin Shukhair used to recite (the Qur'an) by looking at the Mushaf until he would faint.

Hazrat Laith says that I saw Hazrat Talha reciting (the Qur'an) by looking at the Mushaf.
