Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim was asked about a person who feels the need to urinate or feels wind in his stomach, so can he pray? He replied that he can pray as long as these things do not cause him to hasten in his prayer.

Hazrat Tawus says that we will hold back urine as much as possible.

Ibrahim was asked about a person who feels the need to urinate or senses wind in his stomach—should he perform ablution? He replied, "By Allah! In that case, we would be performing ablution all the time."

Ibn Aun narrates that I asked Muhammad about this matter, and he replied that the predecessors used to permit prayer in this state as long as it was possible.

Hazrat Wasel says that I asked Hazrat Ata that if I feel the need to urinate and the time for prayer arrives, can I pray in this state? He replied that yes, if you hope that you can hold it until you finish the prayer, then you can pray in this state.

Hazrat Muhammad bin Ali, Hazrat Aamir, and Hazrat Ata say that there is no harm if a person restrains his urine during prayer.

Ibrahim says that there is no harm if a person restrains his urge to urinate during prayer, provided that it does not cause him to hasten in bowing and prostration.
