Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading us in prayer when a man said, "Has anyone seen my red camel?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "May you not find your camel! Are mosques built for this purpose?"

Hazrat Saad bin Ibrahim's father narrates that Hazrat Umar saw a man raising his voice in the mosque, so he said, "Do you know where you are?"

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Hazrat Umar used to prohibit making noise in the mosque and used to say that voices will not be raised in our mosque.

Hazrat Urwah narrates that a man was calling out in the mosque to find something he had lost. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "May you not find your thing."

Hazrat Ibn Sirin narrates that Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud saw a man searching for something he had lost in the mosque, so he disgraced him.

Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his grandfather that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade buying and selling in the mosque and announcing lost items there.

Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man entered the mosque announcing his lost item. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) heard his voice and said, "May you not find your item."

Hazrat Abdullah narrates that when Hazrat Umar would go for prayer, he would enter the mosque and announce: "Refrain from making noise in the mosque."

Hazrat Ibn Munkadir narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man searching for something of his in the mosque, so he said: O announcer, you will not find your thing.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah says that if you see someone looking for his lost item in the mosque, say to him, "May you not find your item."
