Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Sa'ib narrates that I used to lead people in Tarawih prayers. During this, Hazrat Umar heard my Takbeer from the door of the mosque; he was returning from Umrah. He entered the mosque and performed prayer behind me.

Hazrat Laith says that Hazrat Tawus used to lead people in the Tarawih prayer; he would recite the prayer himself but would perform the bowing (ruku) and prostration (sajdah) along with them.

Ibn Aun states that Muhammad preferred to stand with the people in Tarawih.
