Can a Person Move One Foot Forward While Rising in Prayer?
Hadith 7489
٧٤٨٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن الأوزاعي عن خصيف (الجزري) (١) عن مجاهد قال: رخص (للشيخ) (٢) إذا أراد القيام في (الصلاة) (٣) أن يقدم رجله.
Hazrat Mujahid says that there is a concession for an old man that while standing up in prayer, he may move one of his feet forward.
Hadith 7490
٧٤٩٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن محمد بن علي السلمي عن إبراهيم بن معبد عن ابن عباس في الرجل ينهض في الصلاة فيقدم إحدى رجليه فكرهه وقال: هذه خطوة ملعونة (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked: If a person, while standing up in prayer, puts one of his feet forward, what is the ruling on this? He considered it disliked and said that it is an accursed step.
