Those who recited du‘a qunut in Fajr and held that view
Hadith 7181
٧١٨١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (حدثنا) (١) وكيع قال: (حدثنا) (٢) سفيان وشعبة عن عمرو بن مرة عن ابن أبي ليلى عن البراء أن النبي ﷺ قنت في الفجر والمغرب (٣).
Hazrat Bara’ narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the supplication of Qunoot in the Fajr and Maghrib prayers.
Hadith 7182
٧١٨٢ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا (فطر) (١) عن عطاء أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قنت في الفجر (٢).
Hazrat Ata says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 7183
٧١٨٣ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا ابن أبي ذئب عن شيخ لم يسمه أن أبا بكر قنت في الفجر (١).
Hazrat Abu Bakr recited the Qunoot supplication in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 7184
٧١٨٤ - حدثنا وكيع قال: (حدثنا سفيان) (١) عن أبي حصين عن (عبد الرحمن) (٢) بن (معقل) (٣) قال: قنت في الفجر رجلان من أصحاب النبي ﷺ علي (وأبو) (٤) موسى (٥).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Ma'qal narrates that two companions of the Messenger of Allah, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Abu Musa, recited the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 7185
٧١٨٥ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا أبو جعفر الرازي عن الربيع (عن) (١) أنس (٢) أن النبي ﷺ قنت في الفجر (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 7186
٧١٨٦ - حدثنا هشيم عن عوف عن أبي رجاء (العطاردي) (١) قال: رأيت ابن عباس يمد بضبعيه في قنوت صلاة الغداة (إذ) (٢) كان بالبصرة (٣).
Hazrat Abu Raja reports that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) used to raise his hands very high while reciting the Du'a Qunoot during Fajr prayer when he stayed in Basra.
Hadith 7187
٧١٨٧ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا أبو الأشهب جعفر بن (حيان) (١) وقرة بن خالد سمعاه من أبي رجاء العطاردي قال: صلى بنا ابن عباس الفجر بالبصرة فقنت (٢).
Hazrat Abu Raja’ Ataridi says that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) led the Fajr prayer in Basra and recited the Du’a Qunoot in it.
Hadith 7188
٧١٨٨ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا مسعر عن عبد الملك بن ميسرة (الزراد) (١) عن زيد بن وهب قال: ربما قنت عمر في صلاة الفجر (٢).
Hazrat Zaid bin Wahb says that Hazrat Umar would sometimes recite the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 7189
٧١٨٩ - حدثنا شريك عن زبيد (عن) (١) ابن أبي ليلى قال: القنوت سنة ماضية (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abi Laila states that reciting the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer is an established Sunnah.
Hadith 7190
٧١٩٠ - (حدثنا) (١) وكيع عن سفيان (عن) (٢) زبيد بن الحارث (اليامي) (٣) قال: سألت ابن أبي ليلى عن القنوت في الفجر فقال: سنة ماضية (٤).
Hazrat Zubayd bin Harith Yamī reports that I asked Hazrat Ibn Abi Layla about the Qunoot in the Fajr prayer, so he replied that it is an ongoing Sunnah.
Hadith 7191
٧١٩١ - حدثنا وكيع قال: (حدثنا) (١) يزيد بن (إبراهيم) (٢) عن ابن سيرين أنه قال: القنوت في الفجر هنيهة أو ساعة أو كلمة تشبهها.
Ibn Sirin states that the Qunoot supplication in the Fajr prayer is for a certain period of time.
Hadith 7192
٧١٩٢ - (حدثنا) (١) (ابن) (٢) مهدي عن سفيان (عن) (٣) محارب (عن) (٤) عبيد ابن البراء ((عن) (٥) البراء) (٦) أنه كان يقنت في الفجر (٧).
Hazrat Ubaidah bin Bara narrates that Hazrat Bara used to recite the Du'a Qunoot in the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 7193
٧١٩٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: سمعت وكيعًا يقول: سمعت سفيان يقول: من قنت فحسن، ومن لم يقنت فحسن، ومن قنت فإنما القنوت على الإمام، وليس على من وراءه قنوت.
Hazrat Sufyan says that whoever recited the Du'a Qunoot in Fajr did well, and whoever did not recite it also did well. If someone has to recite Qunoot, then it is the duty of the Imam to recite it, not the followers.
