Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abza narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Al-A'la, Surah Al-Kafiroon, and Surah Al-Ikhlas in Witr, and after concluding the prayer with salam, he would say these words three times: "Subhana-l-Malikil-Quddus."

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abzi narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Al-A'la, Surah Al-Kafiroon, and Surah Al-Ikhlas in Witr, and after concluding the prayer with salam, he would say these words three times: "Subhana-l-Malikil-Quddus." When saying it the third time, he would raise his voice.

It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite Surah Al-A'la in Witr prayers.

Hazrat Anas bin Sirin narrates that Hazrat Umar used to recite the Mu'awwidhatayn in Witr prayers.

Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Umair narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform three rak'ahs of Witr and in each rak'ah he would recite any three surahs from the end of the Mufassal surahs.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to do the same.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) used to recite three surahs in Witr.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) used to offer three rak'ahs of Witr. In them, he would recite Surah Al-A'la, Surah Al-Kafiroon, and Surah Al-Ikhlas.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform three rak'ahs of Witr and would recite Surah Al-A'la, Surah Al-Kafiroon, and Surah Al-Ikhlas in them.

It is narrated similarly through another chain.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin states that Hazrat Usman used to recite the entire Holy Quran in Witr prayers.

Hazrat Hajjaj bin Dinar says that I asked Hazrat Abu Ja'far, "From where should the recitation be done in the two rak'ahs of Witr?" He replied, "No part of the Holy Qur'an can be left out. You may recite from wherever you wish."

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to recite the last part of his portion (of the Qur'an) in Witr prayer.

Hazrat Mughira says that I said to Ibrahim that in my Witr prayers I recite from the end of my Sipara, that is, from { آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَیْہِ مِنْ رَّبِّہِ } to the end. He said that there is no harm in this.

Ibrahim says: Recite the Mu'awwidhatayn in Witr.

Hasan says that I like that I am granted the ability to recite Surah Al-Baqarah in Witr prayers.

Ibrahim says that in the first two rak‘ahs of Witr, recite any surahs, and in the last rak‘ah, recite { آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ } and Surah Al-Ikhlas.
