Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sila bin Zufar says that I have performed all the prayers with Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) a second time. He used to join one rak'ah in the Maghrib prayer.

Hazrat Abu Sawda Nahdi says that I performed the Maghrib prayer, then I also performed that prayer with the congregation. When the Imam finished the prayer with salam, I stood up and added one rak'ah with them. Then, regarding this, I asked Hazrat Ata, and he said that you acted wisely.

Ibrahim says that if a person offers the Maghrib prayer alone and then offers it again with the congregation, he should add one rak'ah to it.

Hazrat Wabra bin Abdur Rahman narrates that I, Ibrahim Nakha'i, and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Aswad performed the Maghrib prayer. Then we came towards the mosque and saw that people were still performing the Maghrib prayer. We also joined them in congregation. When the Imam finished the prayer with salam, Abdur Rahman bin Aswad and I became doubtful about what to do next, while Ibrahim added one rak'ah with them.

Hazrat Sila says that Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) performed the Zuhr, Asr, and Maghrib prayers twice each, and in the Maghrib prayer, he added one rak'ah.

Hazrat Masruq was asked that if a person, after offering the Maghrib prayer alone, offers it again in congregation, how should he perform it? He replied that he should add one rak'ah to it.
