Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The prayer of Tahajjud is (to be offered) in sets of two rak‘ahs.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The prayer of Tahajjud is (to be offered) in sets of two rak‘ahs.

Hazrat Abu Salamah narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say salam after every two rak'ahs in the Tahajjud prayer.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair says that there is a separation after every two rak‘ahs.

Hazrat Ikrimah says that there is Salam after every two rak‘ahs.

Hazrat Salim says that the Tahajjud prayer consists of two rak'ahs at a time.

Muhammad says that the Tahajjud prayer is offered in sets of two rak'ahs.

Hazrat Qabeesah bin Dhu’ayb says that I was performing prayer when Hazrat Abu Hurairah passed by me. He said to me, “Make a separation (fasl).” I could not understand what he was saying. When I finished the prayer, I asked, “In what should I make a separation?” He said, “Make a separation between the day prayer and the night prayer.”

Hazrat Mansur says that I asked Ibrahim about the Tahajjud prayer, so he said that it is sufficient for you to recite Tashahhud after every two rak‘ahs. However, if there is something to do, you may say Salam.
