Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that whenever it rained or there was a storm, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would instruct an announcer to announce: "Pray in your enclosures."

Hazrat Abu Mulaeeh's father narrates that during the year of Hudaybiyyah or Hunayn, I was with the Prophet (peace be upon him). During this time, one day it rained so much that the soles of our shoes did not get wet. The Prophet ordered a proclaimer to announce that people should pray in their saddles.

Hazrat Abu Raja reports that one day during the time of Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), it rained on a Friday. He ordered a proclaimer to announce: "Perform the prayer in your dwellings."

Hazrat Abu Mulaeeh narrates that once, on a rainy night, I went to the mosque for prayer. When I returned, I knocked on the door, and my father asked, "Who is it?" The family members replied, "It is Abu Mulaeeh." He said, "I was with the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) at the time of the Battle of Hudaybiyyah. During that time, it rained, but the rain was so light that the soles of our shoes did not get wet. However, a caller of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) announced that you should perform your prayers in your saddles."

Hazrat Samurah narrates that on the day of Hunain it rained, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed his announcer to proclaim that the prayer should be performed in the tents.
