Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ata was asked whether a muezzin can say the iqamah in the minaret and then offer prayer there by following the imam. He replied that it is permissible.

Hazrat Hammad says that I asked Ibrahim whether the muezzins can perform prayer on the mosque roof in congregation behind the imam on Friday. He replied that it is permissible.

Hazrat Mughira says that I asked Ibrahim whether a muezzin, while giving the call to prayer from the minaret, can follow the imam in prayer. He declared it disliked.
