في الرجل إذا قدم الرجل (يبدأ) بالقراءة أو يقرأ من حيث انتهى
If someone is appointed as imam's deputy during prayer, should he start recitation anew or continue from where the imam left off?
Hadith 6028
٦٠٢٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (١) وكيع قال: حدثنا (إسرائيل) (٢) عن ⦗٢٧١⦘ أبي إسحاق عن أرقم بن (شرحبيل) (٣) عن ابن عباس أن النبي ﷺ لما جاء إلى أبي بكر وهو في الصلاة في مرضه أخذ (من) (٤) القراءة من حيث بلغ أبو بكر (٥).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Hazrat Abu Bakr during the prayer in his final illness, he started the recitation from the point where Hazrat Abu Bakr had reached.
Hadith 6029
٦٠٢٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا إسرائيل عن جابر عن عامر في رجل أحدث في الصلاة فأخذ بيد رجل فقدمه قال: يجزئه قراءته إن كان (قرأ) (١)، وتكبيره إن كان كبر.
Hazrat Aamir says that if a man's ablution breaks during prayer and he appoints someone else to lead as imam, then the recitation and takbeer of that person are sufficient for him.
Hadith 6030
٦٠٣٠ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن هشام قال: كان الحسن يقول في الذي يقدمه الإمام: إن شاء قرأ من حيث انتهى الإمام وإن شاء اختص بعض السور.
Hasan, regarding the person whom the Imam appoints to lead, says that if he wishes, he may recite from where the Imam had reached, and if he wishes, he may recite from another surah.
