Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that I have performed the Friday prayer behind Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah and Hazrat Nu’man bin Bashir; they did not recite the Qunoot supplication in it. I have also performed the Friday prayer behind Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Shareek says that I asked Hazrat Abu Ishaq whether they recited the Qunoot supplication; he replied, “No.”

Hazrat Abu Bakir says that before the time of Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, people used to recite the Qunoot supplication on Fridays; during the time of Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz, it was abandoned.

Hazrat Nafi' states that Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) did not recite the Du'a Qunoot in Jumu'ah and Fajr prayers.
