Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Musa bin Muslim says that I was with Ibrahim Taimi, Ibrahim Nakha'i, Hazrat Zar, and Hazrat Salamah bin Kuhail on the day of Jumu'ah. Hazrat Zar and Hazrat Taimi mentioned the day of Jumu'ah, so they performed four rak'ahs of Jumu'ah at that very place; they were hiding out of fear of (the tyrant Hajjaj bin Yusuf).

Hazrat Aflah narrates that we were at the place of Rauha when the muezzin gave the call to prayer. When we arrived, the people had already performed the prayer. Hazrat Qasim performed his prayer but did not perform the Friday prayer.

Hasan, regarding those people who miss the Friday prayer, says that they will perform the prayer separately.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The congregational Friday prayer is held only with the Imam.

Hazrat Jameel bin Ubaid narrates that when Hazrat Iyas bin Muawiyah was the judge of Basra, he came for Friday prayer and saw that the prayer had already been performed. He then led us in four rak'ahs of Zuhr.

Hazrat Hasan bin Ubaidullah says that I and Hazrat Zar came to the mosque on Friday, and we saw that the people had already performed the Friday prayer. So, we performed the prayer together.
