Hazrat Harith bin Abdur Rahman says that I asked Sulaiman bin Yasar about sleeping in the mosque, so he replied, "How can you ask this question when the Companions of Suffa used to sleep in the mosque and used to pray in the mosque?"

Yunus says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Sirin sleeping in the mosque.

Hasan had a mosque in which he used to sleep and also offer prayers.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that we were young men and used to spend the nights in the mosque of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and during the day we would also sleep there.

Hazrat Ata says that a man asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that sometimes I sleep in the mosque and I have a wet dream, so is it permissible to sleep in the mosque? He replied that it is not permissible to make the mosque a place for spending the night or for siesta. However, it is permissible to rest for a little while or to wait for some work.

Hazrat Ata, Hazrat Tawus, and Hazrat Mujahid have declared sleeping in the mosque as disliked.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj says that I asked Hazrat Ata whether you consider sleeping in the mosque to be disliked? He replied that I actually like it.

Hazrat Abu Haitham says that Hazrat Mujahid forbade me from sleeping in the mosque.

Hazrat Ayman bin Nabil says that Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair saw me sleeping in the mosque, so he woke me up and said, "A person like you is also lying here sleeping?"

Hazrat Abu Amr Shaibani says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Masood one night guarding the mosque. Wherever he saw the shadow of a person, he would go and make him leave, except for one man who was praying; he did not make him leave.

Hazrat Mughira bin Ziyad says that I used to sleep in the Sacred Mosque (Masjid Haram) and there, I would experience nocturnal emission several times in one night. I asked Hazrat Ata about this, and he said that you may sleep in the mosque even if you experience nocturnal emission ten times.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib was asked about sleeping in the mosque, so he replied, "Where did the people of Suffa live?" That is, they used to sleep in the mosque.

Ibn Abi Najih says that I slept in the Sacred Mosque and had a wet dream. I asked Saeed bin Jubair about this, and he said, "Go and perform ghusl (ritual bath)." That is, he did not forbid me from sleeping in the mosque.
