Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Masruq narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey. He camped during the last part of the night, and due to the overpowering effect of sleep, he dozed off so much that the rays of the sun woke him up. He ordered the muezzin to give the call to prayer; the muezzin gave the adhan, then the iqamah, and the Prophet led the prayer. Hazrat Masruq says that the sunrise prayer of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was so beloved to us that all the things of the world seemed insignificant in comparison to it.

The same is also narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

Hazrat Ata bin Yasar narrates that after crossing this valley, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr. Then he instructed Bilal, who gave the adhan and then the iqamah, after which the Prophet led the obligatory prayer.

Hasan says that a person can perform several prayers with one iqamah.

Hazrat Abdullah narrates that one night we were traveling with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Upon reaching a certain place, we submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! If we camp here for a while, we can sleep for some time and our mounts can graze." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Who will keep watch for us?" I said, "I will keep watch." But I fell asleep, and we only woke up when the sun had already risen. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also woke up because of our conversation. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed Hazrat Bilal, who gave the call to prayer and the iqamah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer.
