Hazrat Fudayl narrates that Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair saw a man performing prayer at the time of the iqamah for Asr. He said, "Would you be pleased to hear that so-and-so's son has performed six rak'ahs?" Hazrat Fudayl says that I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he said that performing prayer at the time of iqamah was considered disliked.

Ibrahim says that the predecessors considered it disliked to begin prayer after the mu’adhdhin had started the iqamah.

Hazrat Maymoon says that when the muezzin says Allahu Akbar for the iqamah, do not perform any prayer until the obligatory prayer has been offered.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib narrates that Hazrat Umar saw a man performing two rak'ahs during the mu'adhdhin's iqamah. He scolded him and said that when the mu'adhdhin calls the iqamah, at that time no prayer is to be performed except the prayer for which the iqamah is being called.

Hazrat Ata says that when you are in the mosque and the Iqamah for prayer has been called, do not go into ruku (bowing).
