Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to recite this in the prostrations of the Holy Qur'an: "My face has prostrated to the One Who created it by His power and strength, gave it shape, and honored it with hearing and sight."

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say in the prostration of recitation: O Allah! My face has prostrated to You, my heart has believed in You. O Allah! Grant me knowledge that is beneficial and grant me deeds that elevate my ranks.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to recite this in the prostrations of the Holy Qur'an: "My face has prostrated to the One Who created it by His power and strength, and honored it with hearing and sight."

Hazrat Saeed bin Abi Aroobah states that when Hazrat Qatadah would recite this verse { سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنْ کَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُولاً }, he would perform sajdah and in this sajdah he would say these words three times: "Glory be to Allah and all praise is for Him."

Hazrat Ata bin Saib narrates that once I entered the mosque and saw two elderly men sitting there, one of whom was teaching the Holy Qur’an to the other. I also sat down with them. One of them was Hazrat Qais bin Sakan Asadi, and the other man was reciting Surah Maryam to him. When he reached the verse of prostration, Qais bin Sakan said, “Leave it; we dislike that the people of the mosque see us.” So he left it and recited the next part. Then Hazrat Qais said, “By God! It was Satan who incited us to leave this verse. Recite it.” So he recited it, and we performed the prostration. When we raised our heads, Hazrat Qais said, “Do you know what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say when he performed the prostration of recitation?” They said, “Yes, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: ‘My face has prostrated to the One Who created it and honored it with hearing and sight.’” Hazrat Qais said, “You have spoken the truth. I have heard that Hazrat Dawood used to say in his prostrations: ‘My face, while covered in dust, has prostrated to my Creator, and it is His right that it prostrates to Him.’” Then he said, “Glory be to Allah! How similar is the speech of the Prophets to one another.”

Ibrahim narrates that Abdullah recited a verse of prostration and performed prostration. I have learned that Abdullah used to say these words in his prostrations: O Allah! I am present, I am present considering it a blessing, and all goodness is in Your hands.

Hazrat Zubair bin Adi says that Ibrahim used to say "Labbayk" in the prostration of recitation.
