Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Alqamah, Hazrat Aswad, Hazrat Masruq, and Hazrat Amr bin Shurahbil used to say that if the prostration (sajdah) is at the end of the surah, then performing ruku (bowing) is sufficient.

Ibrahim says that when the prostration (sajdah) is at the end of the surah, it is sufficient for you to perform bowing (ruku‘).

Hazrat Ibn Tawoos narrates that Hazrat Tawoos used to recite Surah Tanzil-us-Sajdah in the Isha prayer and would perform ruku (bowing) at the place of sajdah (prostration).

Hazrat Sha'bi was asked that if a person recites such a Surah at the end of which there is a Sajdah of Tilawat, what should he do? He replied that if he wishes, he may perform the Sajdah and then stand up and recite after it, and if he wishes, he may perform Ruku.

Hazrat Qais says that Hazrat Mujahid used to recite the verse of prostration from Surah Bani Isra'il and some part after it, and then he would perform ruku (bowing).

Hazrat Rabi' bin Khuthaym says that if the prostration (sajdah) is at the end of the surah, then if you wish, you may perform bowing (ruku'), and if you wish, you may perform prostration (sajdah). Because bowing is with prostration.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Yazid says that we asked Hazrat Abdullah, if there is a verse of prostration at the end of a surah, should he perform bowing (ruku) or prostration (sajdah)? He replied that if there is only bowing between you and the prostration, then bowing is better.
