Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them), regarding the person who recites a verse of prostration while turning away from the Qiblah, says that he should perform the prostration; there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Ata says that Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman, while walking, would recite a verse of prostration facing a direction other than the Qibla, and then he would gesture with his head and complete the greeting.

Hazrat Sufyan bin Husain says that Hazrat Hasan stood by a pillar and recited the verse of prostration from Surah Sad, then said to the people, "Turn towards the Qiblah."

Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman says that if a person recites a verse of prostration while sitting, he should perform the prostration facing the Qiblah.
