الرجل يقرأ: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
On Reciting 'Bismillah' in Salah
Hadith 4203
٤٢٠٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم قال: أخبرنا مغيرة عن إبراهيم: أنه كان يقول: إذا قرأ الرجل في صلاته مرة واحدة ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ﴾ أجزأه ذلك.
Ibrahim used to say that when a person recites "Bismillah" once in prayer, it is sufficient for him.
Hadith 4204
٤٢٠٤ - حدثنا حفص عن ابن عون عن (ابن سيرين) (١): إذا تعوذ (مرة) (٢) وقرأ: ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ﴾ أجزأه لبقية (صلاته) (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Sirin says that if a person recites "A'udhu billah" and "Bismillah" once in prayer, it is sufficient for the rest of his prayer.
Hadith 4205
٤٢٠٥ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عاصم عن سعيد بن جبير: أنه كان يقرأ: ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ﴾ في كل ركعة.
Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair used to recite Bismillah in every rak'ah.
Hadith 4206
٤٢٠٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة قال: سألت الحكم وحمادا وأبا إسحاق فقالوا: إقرأ في كل ركعة بـ: ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ﴾.
Hazrat Shu’bah says that I asked Hazrat Hakam, Hazrat Hammad, and Hazrat Abu Ishaq about this matter, so all of them said that recite Bismillah in every rak’ah.
Hadith 4207
٤٢٠٧ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن الحكم وحماد وأبي إسحاق في الرجل يقرأ في الركعة بالسورتين كلما قرأ سورة استفتح بـ: ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ﴾.
Hazrat Hakam, Hazrat Hammad, and Hazrat Abu Ishaq say that if a person recites two surahs in one rak'ah, he should begin each surah with Bismillah.
Hadith 4208
٤٢٠٨ - حدثنا معتمر عن ليث عن طلحة: أنه كان يقرأ في المصحف فكان كلما ختم سورة قرأ: ﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ﴾.
Hazrat Laith states that whenever Hazrat Talha finished reciting any surah of the Holy Qur'an, he would recite "Bismillah" (In the name of Allah).
