Are the Two Sunnah of Fajr Performed During Travel?
Hadith 3971
٣٩٧١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (نا) (١) أبو أسامة قال: (حدثنا) (٢) عبيد اللَّه عن ⦗٣٦٢⦘ نافع عن ابن عمر قال: كان لا يصلي ركعتي الفجر في السفر (٣).
Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) would not perform the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr during travel.
Hadith 3972
٣٩٧٢ - حدثنا جرير عن قابوس عن أبيه عن عائشة قالت: أما ما لم يدع صحيحا ولا مريضا، في سفر ولا حضر، غائبا ولا شاهدا، تعني: النبي ﷺ، (فركعتان) (١) قبل الفجر (٢).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never abandoned the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr, whether in health or illness, during travel or residence, whether in his homeland or outside his homeland.
Hadith 3973
٣٩٧٣ - حدثنا (هشيم) (١) قال: (أخبرنا) (٢) حصين قال: سمعت عمرو بن ميمون الأودي يقول: كانوا لا يتركون أربعا قبل الظهر وركعتين قبل الفجر على حال.
Hazrat Maymun Audhi narrates that the companions of the Prophet never used to omit the four rak'ahs before Zuhr and the two Sunnah before Fajr under any circumstances.
Hadith 3974
٣٩٧٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن حبيب بن (جري) (١) عن أبي جعفر قال: كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ لا يدع الركعتين بعد المغرب والركعتين قبل الفجر في حضر ولا سفر (٢).
Hazrat Abu Ja'far narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would not omit the two Sunnah after Maghrib and the two Sunnah before Fajr, whether at home or during travel.
Hadith 3975
٣٩٧٥ - حدثنا هشيم قال: (أخبرنا) (١) ابن عون عن مجاهد قال: سألته أكان ابن عمر يصلي ركعتي الفجر؟ قال: ما رأيته يترك شيئا في سفر ولا حضر (٢).
Ibn Awn says that I asked Mujahid whether Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to leave the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr. He replied that I have never seen him abandon these Sunnahs, whether in travel or at home.
