Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Imran bin Husain narrates that I stayed in Makkah with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during the year of the conquest of Makkah. He stayed there for eighteen nights. During this time, he would lead the prayer in two rak'ahs and after concluding with salam, he would say to the people of Makkah: "Complete your four rak'ahs, for we are travelers."

Hazrat Aslam and Hazrat Aswad narrate that Hazrat Umar led two rak'ahs in Makkah, then said: "We are travelers; you should complete your prayer."

Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon says that I offered two rak'ahs with Hazrat Umar in Makkah. After the prayer, he said, "O people of Makkah! We are travelers; you should complete your prayer."
