Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Ma'mar says that I asked Hazrat Khabbab how he would know about the recitation of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Zuhr and Asr prayers? He replied, "Because of the movement of his blessed beard."

Hazrat Abu Al-Ahwas says that the companions used to estimate the recitation of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Zuhr and Asr prayers by the movement of his blessed beard.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) says that I do not know whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite (aloud) in Zuhr and Asr or not, but we used to recite.

Hazrat Abu Huraira says that I recite (Qur'an) in every prayer; in the prayer in which the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) recited quietly, I also recite quietly, and in the prayer in which the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) recited aloud, I also recite aloud.
