Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam says that the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to enter the mosque and then leave, but would not perform prayer. He says that I have also seen Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) doing the same.

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to pass by the mosque and would not perform prayer.

9) Hazrat Ibn Aun says that I was passing by the mosque of Kufa with Hazrat Sha'bi. I said to him, "Will you not pray?" He replied, "By my Lord! In this way, we would be praying all the time!"

Hazrat Hanish narrates that I saw Hazrat Suwaid bin Ghaflah passing through our mosque, and sometimes he would pray and sometimes he would not.

Hazrat Khalid bin Abi Bakr narrates that I saw Salim enter the mosque and leave through the window, but he did not perform prayer in the mosque.
